A Brief History of the Graduate Institute of Marketing

A Brief History of the Graduate Institute of Marketing

NCCU Marketing Institute

The Graduate Institute of Marketing at National Chung Cheng University began preparations in 2001 and was officially established in 2003.
We recognized that Taiwan's industries cannot rely solely on OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing), but must move from contract manufacturing toward brand marketing strategy and OBM (building one's own brand). Companies are placing greater emphasis on managing distribution channels and marketing their brands, while consumers increasingly seek experiences built on imagery and storytelling. Against this industry backdrop, more professionally trained marketing talent is needed to bring new momentum to the entire industry.

With talent cultivation as its goal, our Institute—unlike marketing programs housed under graduate schools of business administration—offers a more in-depth curriculum and more practical courses integrated with industry. "Creativity, Humanities, and Practice" is our core philosophy.

◎ Creativity: Bringing marketing to life and breaking free from conventional, stereotyped marketing thinking.
◎ Humanities: Making marketing about more than just products—using humanistic literacy to create warmth in marketing.
◎ Practice: Making learning more than just theory—incorporating case studies, project-based learning, internships, and more to connect with the corporate world.

Our alumni can be found across every field in Taiwan: from publishing at CommonWealth Magazine, to online marketing at Taiwan Hitachi, to advertising at Ogilvy, to management roles at Uni-President Enterprises, and even founding marketing companies and launching their own brands as entrepreneurs. The Graduate Institute of Marketing at Chung Cheng welcomes you to join us—to become the marketing talent of the future, and to add another bright achievement to the distinguished record of our alumni.
